As local elected officials from across the United States, we fight every day for a better future – one where all of us can live in safety, freedom, and peace.

The past few months have been hard as the world has witnessed and grappled with the violence and bloodshed in Israel and Palestine.

At the urging of member leaders across the network, Local Progress released an open letter with local electeds calling on the White House and Congress to take immediate action for a durable ceasefire in Israel and Palestine. Recognizing that we are a diverse set of elected officials representing widely ranging points of view, the letter offers a way for local electeds to be in public solidarity with one another and join our voices to the chorus across the country calling for peace.

We know that what happens across the world has a deep impact on our work locally and we have seen that in how our communities have grappled with the pain and mourning stemming from this conflict. We will continue supporting local leaders everywhere as they navigate how this conflict impacts their communities at home.

If you’re a local elected official that would like to add their name to the letter, you can do so here.
