Remembering Senator Faith Winter’s Leadership

In response to Colorado state senator Faith Winter’s passing, Local Progress Impact Lab in partnership with re:power and SiX released the following statement from the Progressive Governance Academy:

“The Progressive Governance Academy joins so many across Colorado and the nation in mourning the tragic passing of Senator Faith Winter. We celebrate her extraordinary life and legacy — one defined by possibility, principled leadership, and an unwavering belief in people-powered democracy.

From her early days as a local elected leader with Local Progress to her deep partnership with re:power and the Progressive Governance Academy, Faith showed us what becomes possible when organizers lead with courage and conviction. She dedicated her career to building a more just, inclusive future and invested herself fully in training the next generation of leaders to carry that fight forward.

Faith embodied the values at the heart of our work: integrity, community, and a steadfast commitment to democracy. Her loss is immeasurable, and our hearts are with her children, Tobin and Sienna, and all who loved her. We will honor her by continuing the work she championed so fiercely.”
