It’s Spring, and that means we’re only a few months away from our 2022 National Convening, August 4-6 right here in Denver, CO! I am thrilled to welcome you to Denver for our tenth national convening – and the first one in-person since the pandemic.

With registration now open, we’re also thrilled to share this year’s theme: Resilience. Power. Transformation.

The past few years have been hard for all of us and our communities, and I am so looking forward to being together in person to celebrate our successes, heal from our struggles, and to simply enjoy being in community with one another.

We are all more than our elected public roles. We are whole people doing this work, and we all know how important care and hope are in our collective fight for justice and equity.

That’s why this year’s convening will not only be a space for organizing and digging deep on the issues; it will also be a space for community healing and needed conversations about how we make our movement more resilient.

Our goal is to ensure we all walk away feeling more inspired and energized for the work ahead – AND more seen in our struggles, more heard in our needs, and more grounded in our collective strength and power.

Because there is so much to find strength in. Here in Denver, since our last 2019 convening we’ve accomplished a lot to make our city a more equitable and livable place:We increased our citywide minimum wage, launched a groundbreaking non-police emergency response program (STAR), and launched and expanded Safe Outdoor Spaces to reduce unsheltered homelessness. We’ve stood in solidarity with  Denver airport janitors to win historic wages and benefits , required large commercial buildings to reduce emissions, and enacted rental licensing to protect renters. We’ve worked tirelessly so more in our community can make ends meet and enjoy a healthy, high quality of life in the city we love, even amidst a global pandemic.

I know all of you will be bringing your own stories of these last couple years and I can’t wait to learn and share with you, while showing you  what our city has to offer.

Please get registered! Applications for financial aid are due June 1 and registration will be open until June 30. Feel free to get in touch with LP staff with any questions you may have.

See you soon, right here in Denver!
