On January 30, 2020, Local Progress partnered with Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE), Housing NOW! Coalition, and the Western Center on Law and Poverty on a program exploring the implementation and enforcement of the 2019 Tenant Protection Act. We were joined by Francisco Duenas, Director from Housing NOW! and Alexander Harden, Policy Advocate from Western Center on Law and Poverty.
Our speakers discussed both the organizing effort to pass CA AB 1482 and the very specific provisions of the law itself, including what it is, what units are covered, the exemptions to just cause, and rent cap details, among the many topics. We encourage California local elected officials to review the content and let us know if you have any follow up questions.
